Brazil: Safe Arrival

After a delayed departure from Birmingham, followed by a sprint at Frankfurt to make our connection, followed by a 12 hour flight and some pretty dodgy airline meals, Peter and I arrived in Rio de Janeiro at around 11am UK time.

We then caught our connecting flight to Manaus and landed at the biggest city in the north of Brazil (1.5 mil) which will be our base until Sunday afternoon. It's here we met with Andrew Love, who is the UK missionary whose patch we are visiting.

It's 28 hours since I walked out the door in Worcester. Since then I have seen the tops of more clouds than I ever have!

First impressions of Brazil? Chaotic, colourful, very friendly and HOT (sorry to rub it in, but it's in the low 30s here at the moment). We were met at the airport by three pastors from the local church who were so welcoming. We're now settling in to our apartment.
